Nadia copied the backup files onto three encrypted drives. Julien photographed the original server logs. As they left, a camera above the door tracked their movement, but no alarm sounded.
“They’ll know,” Camille said.
“Let them,” Julien replied. “We have the evidence now.”
They walked along the Seine in the grey Paris morning. The city was waking, and the Louvre rose behind them like a fortress.
“Where do we go?” Camille asked.
“The Ministry of Culture. We hand over the drives and the photographs. Then we contact a journalist.”
