Julien found his own access credentials suspended that evening. The security system listed him as on leave, though he had not requested leave. A junior guard had been assigned to his wing.

“They’re removing us,” he told Camille on the phone.

“I know. My key card no longer opens the archive.”

“We need to get to the underground storage levels before they seal those too.”

“Julien, if we’re caught now, we lose everything.”

“If we do nothing, the list disappears forever.”
