Synopsis

In 1965, French-born aerospace engineer Luc Moreau leaves Europe for Houston after being recruited into a fictional NASA contractor supporting the Apollo lunar program. Brilliant with control systems and suspicious of easy answers, Luc believes engineering is a moral discipline: every number on a test sheet must correspond to something real. When a supposedly routine ground failure destroys a prototype and kills a technician, he discovers that the telemetry does not match the archived test reports. The deeper he looks, the clearer the pattern becomes. A contractor has been rewriting qualification data to conceal a design flaw in a critical lunar-flight system, betting that schedule pressure and institutional pride will silence anyone who notices. As the United States races the Soviet Union to the Moon, Luc must decide whether exposing the truth will save the program—or destroy it before it can fly.
